POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Vault Technician is responsible for handling physical and digital shipping and receiving in a fast-paced and accurate manner. In this position, you will accurately log metadata of incoming physical media into the inventory system and barcode elements upon receipt, and maintain accurate inventory counts while keeping the vault room well-organized. 

MAIN DUTIES: 
As a Vault Technician, you will be responsible for shipping and receiving, providing technical assistance, and maintaining the vault inventory.  

Vault: You will accurately log metadata of incoming physical media into the inventory system and barcode elements upon receipt, keep the vault room tidy by shelving, re-shelving, shifting, and re-packing media, and guarantee accurate tracking and shelf location of all in-house physical media. You will: 

Maintain correct inventory counts of all blank media stock and vault supplies with both administrative vault records as well as in MediaPulse. Locate elements for clients, staff, and other Company 3 business units Securely pull physical media in a timely manner for production use and return elements to vault storage when their use is complete Fulfill weekly routine inventory audits, as well as yearly mass-vault audits Responsible for condition of camera equipment and compiling shoot kits for shoots Shipping: You will be responsible for the security of all outgoing media. You will pull elements for delivery and arrange for dispatch of couriers or overnight shipments with preferred vendors, perform quality control check on Company 3-made labels, and coordinate DCP output and deliveries with DTDC and Data. You will:Coordinate and process both local and international deliveries/shipments per client’s standards, included but not limited to counter-to-counter logistics vendors such as Bluebird ExpressBring FedEx packages to our local FedEx drop off facility or downtown as needed. You will also perform local deliveries as needed when couriers are unavailable.Receiving: You will dispatch couriers to pick up physical media, documents, and supplies as requested, take responsibility for secure receipt of all incoming shipments and provide signature proof, and accurately match shippers to goods received. You will:Assess received elements for damage/missing itemsReceive blank media stock and confirm the goods have been receivedOversee the distribution of incoming mail/packages to staff. Technical Assistance: You will perform virus scans of incoming hard drives, plugging in and mounting shuttle drives for the remote Dailies and Commercial Prep teams, as well as unplugging before being released back to client following ingest. You will also label all LTO media accordingly. 

General Duties: In addition to the duties listed above, you will compose articulate, accurate, and timely e-mail correspondence, answer phones and contact staff and clients concerning receipt, vaulting, and shipment of elements, and maintain a tidy and organized workspace. 

WHAT YOU BRING: 
The ideal candidate must be literate in all Microsoft Outlook programs, as well as be comfortable learning specialized software and applications related to company operations. They will be knowledgeable in handling hard drive media and able to distinguish between different connections and formats, as well as other time-based media formats. They will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task under pressure with minimal supervision.Must be flexible to receive drops/mount drives outside of the vault’s scheduled hours of operation as needed. Must be available to be on call for at least one weekend a month for last minute requests.
