Roles & Responsibility –
Identify opportunities to reduce the ICV of the product. Developing engineering design concepts for components and electromechanical assemblies that have demanding requirements for size, precision, reliability and cost.Improve designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability. Performing design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options.Give inputs to facilitate thermal, stress, load and performance/requirements whenever required.Analysing and validating material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, manufacturability whenever required.Conduct design studies for new and existing products to enhance performance and reduce costs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product value and performance.Utilize tools and methodologies such as IRR, NPV, and payback analysis to assess financial impact.Desired CharacteristicsManage supplier development including assisting key suppliers towards QA. Support suppliers in reaching optimum quality and industrial standards of excellence.Supplier development, Part development as per project timelines meeting quality requirements in strong collaboration with Sourcing, Engineering Manufacturing team.Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment but may require more senior levels of guidance.Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.Strong technical experience with 2+ years in Mechanical, Composite commodities in Supplier Quality and development/Design is must. Quality mindset required.Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies.Quality and Compliance: Adherence to GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and relevant regulations. Complete Quality & Compliance training within deadlines. Proactively identify and report quality concerns, with immediate corrective action. Support regulatory and quality compliance before completing design outputs. Participate in continuous improvement activities to address process and product quality gaps.Inclusion and Diversity
