Do you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking a VDC Manager to be responsible for the planning and allocating of VDC resources, preparation of VDC budgets, and overall success of coordination efforts for projects across their assigned business unit. This role will primarily sit in the office.

Responsibilities Autonomous in leading project coordination on simultaneous projectsEnsure all VDC project deliverables are delivered on time and within the stipulated scope and budgetLead initiation and planning of VDC scope and ensure technical feasibilityEnsure resource availability and allocationForecasting and executing on staffing needs for projects responsible and BUDevelop a detailed plan to monitor and track the coordination progress of the projectCoordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of project coordinationManage relationships between clients and stakeholdersMeasure VDC performance using appropriate project management toolsPerform risk management analysis to reduce project risksReport and escalate to upper management as and when neededMonitor quality and execution of comprehensive coordination documentationCoach and develop team of VDC Engineers & ManagersIntegrated into BU sales strategy and forecasting project pipelineLead 6-8 VDC deliverables at one time, including through the work of direct reportsSubject matter expert (SME) leading one of the sub-focus groups within the overall Peer Group; responsible for externally (from VDC) communicating findings of sub-focus group Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

BA/BS/MS degree in Architecture, Engineering or BIM related specialties5+ years of VDC Coordination experience1 or more years of supervisory experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong problem-solving skillsStrong time-management and analytical skillsExpert user of BIM and design software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, In-design)Firm understanding of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systemsProven leadership skillsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team environmentAbility to effectively delegate tasks to a team of VDC EngineersAbility to mentor and develop VDC Engineers & Managers

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    


For Albany and Buffalo, NY this ranges from $113, 000.00 - $155,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
