About The Position
The Vegetation Supervisor is responsible for the field administration of contracts with outside contractors in regard to line clearance activities and other areas, as assigned.
Key responsibilities include:Responsible for tree trim cycle optimization and project management including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and evaluation of all types of vegetation management work impacting the distribution system. Responsible for the field administration of contracts with outside contractors in regard to line clearance activities and other areas, as assigned; including but not limited to assisting supervisors in other areas. Assure safety, productivity, and distribution system reliability performance that optimize expenditures and deliver expected business results. Contribute to the development of standards in the use of pesticides in environmental programs and procedures to improve system service reliability and crew productivity. Perform field investigations, address specific customer complaints or requests, resolve problems, and communicate corporate department policy or programs to customers, government officials, and other agencies. Record all pertinent information. Establish and ensure continuity of effective safety programs. Respond to after-hours requests and manage tree crews engaged in storm restoration work. This position is subject to call-outs and emergency duty. Responsibilities could involve occasional overnight travel and will require the use of a personal vehicle.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Five or more years experience in forestry/arboriculture required. Five or more years experience in the utility line clearance industry with a knowledge of overhead construction preferred. Must hold or be willing to secure within 12 months a current Certified Arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture. Must hold or be willing to secure within 12 months a current Illinois Pesticide Applicator License.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Office365 applications required. Must demonstrate good administrative, leadership, communication, and human relations skills; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic. Position requires investigation/re-investigation under NERC (North American Electric Reliability Council) guidelines.

**Compensation Range:**
$86,400.00 - $133,900.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
