In this position… 

In this position, the Global Lead Buyer will be responsible for the category strategy and implementation of Vehicle Access and Authorization commodities, including Key Fobs, Phone as a Key module, Door Handle Sensors, Near Field Communication, and more.  This technology is quickly evolving, requiring the candidate to have a strong strategic mindset.  The selected candidate will lead program sourcing and deliver quality, cost, delivery, and resilience objectives.

You'll have... 

Minimum

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of experience in automotive procurement and/or purchasing High business acumen and strategic mindset Negotiation skills to create and maximize leverage Analytical skills to understand cost structure and identify opportunities Project management skills to deliver multiple projects simultaneously A strong sense of ownership to drive category implementation Experience working with electronic modules Experience, or familiarity, with manufacturing processes High learning agility and innate curiosity Problem solving skills to identify and achieve solutions in the face of roadblocks or challenges Interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with cross-functional counterparts Growth mindset and positive, can-do approach

What you'll do… 

Advance and implement the Category Business Plan for Vehicle Access and Authorization commodities. This includes Key Fobs, Phone As A Key, Door Handle Sensors, Near Field Communication, and more. Lead program sourcing, including Team of 4’s, sourcing approach, design competitions, sourcing contracts, etc. to achieve program targets. Deliver Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Resilience objectives. Maintain strong relationships with Product Development and Tech Strategy counterparts to deliver the commodity strategy in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Maintain strong relationships with Global Purchasing counterparts to deliver commercial and sourcing objectives. Work with Supplier Champions to develop and implement commercial strategies across the supply base. Understand commodity cost-structure, including internal optimal cost estimates to identify ‘gap’ closure opportunities. Work with Tier 2 Semiconductor Team to understand Bill of Material costs and opportunities. Lead negotiations on current and future sourcing to achieve cost targets and gap closure. Engage with supplier partners to cultivate positive relationships while holding suppliers accountable to Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Resilience standards.       

Provide support to the Purchasing Operations / Supply Chain Business Solutions team.
