Position Summary

This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.

As a Vehicle Core Feature Owner System Engineer, you'll be responsible for one or more functions of the Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem end-to-end development.

In this role, you will ensure that the products and technology meet customer and regulatory requirements. You will also manage customer communication, requirements, and expectations throughout the product development lifecycle.

Your Role

Communicate and maintain function level status with help of Systems Project Lead.Work with Product Owners, Project Managers, Systems Project Lead and other stakeholders to align strategy and execution and Feature Roll Out PlansResponsible for the compliance of APTIV processes and methods on V-SYS and SS-SYS level.Responsible for Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Function :for the analysis of the Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem FunctionResponsible for the consistent documentation of Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Function in the Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Requirements SpecificationsResponsible for Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Function with Vehicle Systems Architectfor the design of the Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem FunctionResponsible for the consistent documentation of Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Function in the Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem ArchitectureCoordinates and aligns Vehicle or Vehicle Subsystem Functions with all affected competencies and ensures review and clarification of resulting issues with all Stakeholders.Drive process, procedure, and methodology improvements to optimize and continuously improve work efficiency.Global customer interface to define/clarify stakeholder requirement and also for discussion of functional issues.Update stakeholder requirements.Update and maintain vehicle requirements (functional (customer requirements) and non-functional (regulations)Manage and monitor metrics for feature progress and support leadership teams with clear feature status.Triage of issues for internal and customer reports for vehicle function.Point of contact for functional performance of the vehicle function (vehicle testing teams and bench testing teams, customer and algo teams reach out for clarification of functionalities related to the feature).Participate and support for internal meetings with key stakeholders for vehicle function (meetings with leadership to ensure SW functionalities are implemented accordingly and meet customer deadlines, CR review, CCB meetings, etc).Vehicle testing and demos (go on vehicle drives on testing vehicle to test functions) on a need basis.Escalates customer changes requested to proper program or engineering management forums to ensure compliance to contractually agreed scopeCreates Change Requests for Customer / Stakeholder Requests out of scope with support from Vehicle Systems Engineer

Your Background:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, electrical, or related field of study)2+ years of professional experience in the Automotive Industry.Interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challenge.Cross-functional interests, ambitious and self-driven. Adaptive, comfortable with ambiguity.Ability to effectively manage several projects at once.Strong soft skills: skilled networking creation, influencing skills, constantly learning, positive and ownership profile.Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production.Familiarity with embedded systems designs.Familiarity with microprocessor/controller-based hardware designs, System/Software Architectures for automotive designs, and network topologyFamiliarity with Functional Safety or Cybersecurity knowledge/backgroundProven track record working with ADAS.Proven track record of working with system/software development processes (Automotive SPICE) and tools.Experience with vehicle protocols and diagnostics.Experience with embedded hardware and serial communication protocols.Proven record of working with configuration management systems (Polarion, SharePoint, etc)Availability to travel 20%-30%.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.Experience working in an agile development team and with agile tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
