We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Survivability Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS).The Vehicle Survivability Engineer will provide engineering expertise and oversight in the research, development, and integration of survivability, force protection, and structural systems for ground combat vehicles.
This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and coordinating across multiple teams to ensure the effective testing, fielding, and operational support of survivability technologies. The engineer will contribute to high-level program management efforts and offer technical recommendations on design, testing, and system enhancements for vehicle protection systems.  ResponsibilitiesServe as the subject matter expert for passive and reactive armors, active protection systems, underbody protection, laser protection, and counter-unmanned aerial systems. Provide technical expertise in evaluating test procedures, coordinating test events, and resolving issues during testing for survivability systems. Review and support the integration of survivability systems, including design layout, testing documentation, tear-downs, installations, inspections, and repairs. Support program coordination activities across various functional areas, including logistics, product assurance, quality, production, and business management. Interface with external program representatives, including Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC), Armaments Center (AC), TRADOC Capability Manager (TCM), Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), and other government agencies for design changes and performance specification compliance. Participate in high-level program reviews, staff calls, System Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) meetings, risk reviews, and logistics and test coordination efforts. QualificationsActive DoD Secret Security Clearance.A Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or a technical field from a college or university.   A minimum total of 5 years experience in analysis, development, evaluation, integration, or test of DoD systems including one or more of the following: A minimum of 5 years survivability experience in analysis, development, evaluation, integration, and test of U.S. military ground vehicle systems. A minimum of 5 years experience in survivability research and integration of ground vehicle systems.   Additional Information
