Vehicle Systems Technician

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY FROM DAY ONE

We currently have exciting opportunities for Vehicle Systems Technicians to support vehicle builds in our Advanced Development organization, located at our Westfield Engineering Laboratory in Westfield, IN.

Responsibilities and Duties

Support internal and external Advanced Development Engineering vehicle builds and checkout prior to deliveryInterface closely with other competencies to ensure requirements are properly provided and that the vehicle level requirements developed are properly implementedFollow direction from Vehicle Systems EngineersRead engineering vehicle mechanization drawingsDisassemble/assemble vehicle interior and exterior panelsAssemble component racks including computers, networking, and electronic instrumentationBuild vehicle harnesses to specificationsSelf-motivated, well organized, flexible, works well with complex issuesCoordinate with others to ensure Systems deliverables are completed on time per project schedules, have proper content and meet both internal and customer quality standardsIdentify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement and implement appropriate initiativesEscalate execution issues, as needed

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in Automotive Industry1+ years of experience with custom vehicle modificationsExperience working on vehicles in a service dealership / repair facility.Skilled in the use of common mechanical and electrical tools (multimeters and diagnostics equipment)Experience with hand soldiering equipmentKnowledge of basic DC Electrical ConceptsAbility to comprehend schematics and vehicle service informationCurrent driver’s license

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

Associates degree in Engineering or related technical fieldKnowledge of driver assistance systems (radar and / or camera technology)Knowledge of Active or Passive Safety SystemsExperience with hardware / software interfaces and communication protocolsKnowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Flex ray, EthernetProblem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task and work in team environmentPassionate about creating innovation cutting-edge automotive safety products
