Vehicle Theft Recovery Coordinator
Insight Global
Job Description
This contractor is responsible for assisting with units that have been identified as overdue by means of the Overdue Report, trackable theft report units provide by the Vehicle Theft Team, and NCIC-listed trackable theft report units that have also been provided by the Vehicle Theft Team.
Their duties include identifying and tracking units using Vehicle Finder (VF) to determine if a unit has been stationary and confirming its location for attempted recovery. They must log recovery attempts by documenting the units location, dispatching the nearest Quality Tow Vehicle (QTV) for retrieval, and notifying the relevant Penske branch with an estimated arrival time. If the unit is listed in the NCIC theft database, they must coordinate with law enforcement, request dispatch for recovery, and record police department details. Throughout the process, they monitor recovery efforts, update Roadside Reports, log successful recoveries, and escalate failed recoveries to the appropriate SSOS/SOS team for further action. If a unit is successfully recovered, they ensure it is transported to a tow yard or branch.
This contractor ensures efficient coordination between the Vehicle Theft Team, tracking systems, QTV (Quality Tow Vendor) dispatch, law enforcement, and Penske branches to facilitate quick and safe unit recovery.
