POSITION SUMMARY: The Venture Analyst provides analytical and other diligence efforts in the evaluation of venture investment opportunities. Works with the venture team to research and analyze technology companies in healthcare. Prepares detailed analysis of financial and operational strategies of companies seeking venture funding. Researches emerging technology companies and healthcare sectors in general. Participates in venture team discussion, analysis and decision making. Prepares and maintains internal reports and analyses to support the Venture group and participation in preparation of investment recommendation summaries and portfolio company reports to support the venture team. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Assesses risk areas and conduct diligence on companies seeking investment including, but not limited to the technology or service, the management team, intellectual property, the regulatory pathway, the reimbursement strategy, the market opportunity, the business model, the go-to market strategy, financial projections, governance structure and exit strategies. Researches merger and acquisition activity in the given sector and develop financial models to analyze the growth and exit potential of companies seeking funding. Evaluates customer contracts and pipeline opportunities, revenue and expense projections, growth projections and other information provided by companies seeking funding. Reviews and evaluates financial models and other diligence done by potential co-investment and syndicate partners. Prepares diligence questions and extended diligence worksteps as work progresses on a given opportunity. Identifies and analyzes competitive landscape related to the company seeking funding. Researches and reviews industry trends in the sectors of interest to OSF Ventures. Prepares written summaries of our diligence work and participate in the investment decision-making processes including preparation of written investment recommendations. Prepares regular internal reports of venture investments, portfolio analysis, revaluations, dashboard reporting, file documentation compliance. Participates in ongoing evaluation of financial and other information provided by OSF Venture portfolio companies and develop, prepare and maintain related internal reporting and related files. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field Experience: 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, venture capital, private equity, investment banking or related entrepreneurial. Other skills/knowledge: Basic knowledge of intellectual property (IP), FDA guidelines, and regulatory landscape for assessing healthcare startups. Strong written and verbal communication skills, an attention to detail, an aptitude for logical thinking, a commitment to professional ethics, and the ability to interact with venture investment staff as well as experience working with sensitive and confidential information. Proficiency in analytical skills, spreadsheet development, research and report writing required to address operational, regulatory and commercialization challenges of start-up companies, to gather and interpret financial, regulatory and clinical data, and to prepare clear, concise management reports.
