 Job Summary:
The Bay Street Yard Venue Manager is responsible to manage the day to day operations of the venue including but not limited to ensuring a highly positive, engaging, and unique guest experience, recruiting and programming of staff training, ensuring exceptional service and high-quality standards are met consistently while maintaining a strong team environment. This role will involve managing staff, resolving guest issues, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Essential FunctionsMaintain compliance with Mainsail Lodging & Development company core values.Create a positive atmosphere for guests and team members.Assist in preparing Bay Street Yard team member’s schedules according to the business forecast, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements per anticipated business levelsReview staffing levels to ensure exceptional guest service and operational needs are met and financial objectives are being met.Asist with maintaining accurate payroll for all team members within the department in payroll software system.Comply with deadlines to ensure proper hours, PTO, and Holidays are paid out correctly.Participate in required Bay Street Yard meetings to include: Departmental, Staff, Manager, and any other meetings.Assist in executing private group parties and functionsMonitor and work with food truck vendors, overseeing consistency of services and food qualityMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which includes wearing proper professional attire.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Mainsail Lodging & Development’s policy, following a schedule which will vary according to the needs of the venue.Comply with all safety standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient venue operations and OSHA guidelines.Respond to guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents.Regularly supervise and assist bartenders, servers, server assistants, and hosts on the floor during meal periods and peak times.Assist in conducting daily pre-shifts meetings to inform team of venue happenings.Maintain service and sanitation standards in compliance with the state regulations.Ensure team members are aware of all applicable laws regarding alcoholic beverages.Complete all required training from Mainsail Corporate.Ensure compliance with all F&B policies and procedures by training, supervision, hands on approach, and follow- up.Monitor beverage staff to ensure proper portion control and maintain acceptable beverage cost.Ensure guest and staff privacy and security by correctly following venue procedures, and by implementing and monitoring established protocolTrain, motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all F&B team members according to the company standardsPromote open lines of communication with all management and team members and maintain a professional work environment.Work with assigned Human Resources Business Partner for all team member relatedEnsure team members are treated fairly and equitably, prioritize team member retention.Respond to emergency situations using information contained in Safety Data Sheets; keep SDS’s current and easily available.Maintain and monitor “Lost and Found” procedures and policies according to company standardsOther duties as assigned by Mainsail Lodging and Development leadership and/or venue ownershipQualification StandardsEducation & ExperienceMinimum 2 years in Managerial role at a high-volume bar, catering operation, lounge and/or fine dining restaurant or hotel.Extensive knowledge of beer, wine and spirits is required.Mid-scale to fine dining experience, lounge and bar knowledge is required.Venue and/or special event management experience preferredToast POS, seating and reservation systems, and payroll systems knowledge preferred.Physical DemandsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate clearlyAbility to lift, bend, and carry 20 lbs.Corrected vision to normal rangeAbility to drive/transport self and othersAbility to travel on occasion for meetingsAbility to work long hours as needed
