About the Job:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in triaging incoming patientsMonitor and provide care for critical and fractious patientsAdminister medications and assist with treatmentsAssist in diagnostic tests and emergency proceduresEnsure patient comfort and wellbeingProvide support to veterinary professionals during exams and proceduresCommunicate effectively with pet owners and answer questions about careMaintain and organize medical equipment and suppliesAccurately document patient care in electronic recordsEngage in ongoing education and training to expand skills

Compensation Range:

Veterinary Assistant: $21.00-$31.00 per hour

Work Schedule:

Various shifts available: days, swings, and overnightsFull-Time positions, 4/10 schedule$5 shift differential for overnight shifts

Basic Required Qualifications:

High school diploma3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industryAbility to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasksMaintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)CA-RVT license preferred but not required
