We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong desire to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced veterinary environment. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by providing necessary support and handling of animals. Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly sterilizing instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques. Provide excellent pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals as needed. Handle animal restraint effectively to ensure safety for both staff and patients during examinations or treatments. Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and maintaining accurate records. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health and care instructions. Support doctors in surgery monitoring anesthesia

Requirements

Three years of previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred but not mandatory. Strong dog handling, animal husbandry, and animal handling skills are essential. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is beneficial. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of working independently when required. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members. A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 -$22.00 per hour depending on experience

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
