Veterinary Assistant - ER/ECC

Welcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. AESC Team is growing, and we are seeking motivated, positive and compassionate individuals to join our team. **This position is expected to work Sun/Mon/Tues/Fri 9am-7pm. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the Hospital and Department. Training days/hours TBD.**

**This position will pay $18-$22 hourly DOE**

***At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!***

Overall Responsibility: ER Assistants provide excellent technical skills and a strong knowledge of emergency procedures in vet medicine.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technicianClean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.Assist in Ultrasound if needed.LaundryBasic grooming as needed.Other duties as needed.

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of animal experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This job is physically active and requires frequent bending. It also requires routine lifting and restraining of animals in excess of 50 pounds.
