Our new Arista Dallas hospital will be opening later this Fall along the Dallas North Tollway, just south of I-635. We are excited to begin building our Dallas team with dedicated veterinary professionals that want to provide the highest quality care for our patients in an environment driven by our hospital ownership group.

Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technician/Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
As an Emergency & Critical Care Technician, you will play an integral part in assessing/triaging patients, stabilizing incoming emergency patients and working closely with the veterinarian performing technical tasks and assisting in communications with pet owners, enabling our team to deliver exceptional medical care within the ER, ICU and other areas of the hospital. This role requires a highly motivated and skilled individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in emergency and critical care, along with a strong understanding of patient care and monitoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
+ Working closely with ER and Critical Care doctors to care for both incoming emergency patients and hospitalized patients.
+ Full technician skill utilization with anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, multi-lumen catheter placement.
+ Monitor critically ill patients for changes in condition and report findings to veterinarians.
+ Providing compassionate care for all patients.
+ Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of treatments, procedures, and medications administered.
+ Work collaboratively with all hospital staff.
+ Ensure a clean environment in the ER and other treatment areas.
+ Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pet’s condition and treatment plan, and log communications accurately in medical record.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school diploma or equivalent (required).
+ Veterinary Technician License (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred but not required.
+ Previous experience in an ICU, emergency, or specialty veterinary setting is highly desirable.
+ Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
+ Ability to handle a wide range of critically ill patients, demonstrating a calm and compassionate demeanor under pressure.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
+ Basic proficiency in medical software systems and record-keeping.
+ Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Comfort working with potentially ill and difficult-to-handle animals.
