Veterinary Extern - Emergency Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center
Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center in the trendy Nob Hill area of scenic Albuquerque, New Mexico, is excited to open our doors and share our knowledge with veterinary student externs. Our externs benefit from direct mentorship and case involvement and grow their emergency and general veterinary skills.
Program Overview:
Our externship program is open to third- and fourth-year veterinary students in two- to eight-week blocks, depending on school requirements and schedule. We will work with you to devise a shift schedule that works best for everyone.
You will shadow senior clinicians, take patient histories, provide input in case management decisions, assist with or perform surgical procedures, and attend patient and didactic rounds. Most importantly, you will gain a better understanding of the busy ER life.
