*This position is expected to work Per Diem or Part-Time. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the Hospital and Department. Training days/hours TBD*
*This position will pay $45-$55 hourly DOE*
Responsibilities:
Perform MRI scans with proper technical factors.In partnership with Veterinary Technician, assists with positioning of the patient to ensure appropriate images are captured.Works independently or under the guidance of the clinician to modify scan techniques for optimal image quality.Troubleshooting image quality issues while performing the MRI.Performs routine MRI quality assurance and reports any concerns in a timely manner.Maintain a clean and safe environment and adhere to appropriate restricted access.In partnership with the Facilities Manager and service vendor, troubleshoot technology issues with scanner/equipment when needed.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate or bachelor’s degree).Certification or licensure, such as from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in the United States.1 year work experience as MRI Technologist in human or veterinary medicinePreferred Qualifications:
2 or more years’ work experience as MRI Technologist in human or veterinary medicine.Experience working in a veterinary setting.Skill Requirements:
Strong ability to multitask and anticipate the needs of the Doctors and other technicians.Ability to work independently.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to collaborate with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants and Leadership.Language Ability: Ability to speak in an understandable manner and understand the English language.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read and interpret documents and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and may require frequent bending. It requires routine lifting and restraining of animals in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, and use hands. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment is predominantly indoors with occasional outdoor exposure when walking patients. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals related to veterinary medicine.
