We are seeking a Sonographer Technician who is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of success, to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging services to support the diagnosis and treatment of animal patients.

Overview:
The Sonographer Technician is responsible for providing responsible and compassionate care to all GCVS patients, collaborating effectively with staff and doctors to ensure the success and quality of ultrasound studies. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive ultrasound examinations as requested by veterinarians, assisting with patient data entry, setting up studies, and providing patient restraint when necessary. Additionally, the Sonographer Technician will contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of ultrasound machines and ensure the ultrasound areas remain well-stocked. As time permits, they may assist and train in other areas of the diagnostic imaging department. This role requires a dependable, team-oriented individual with excellent communication and time management skills who can adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.

Location:Houston, TXAnticipated Schedule:Full Time4x10 hour shifts (exact schedule TBD)8am-6pmWeekends requiredDuties & ResponsibilitiesPerforming ultrasound studies on a variety of animal speciesAbdominal Ultrasounds EchocardiogramsMusculoskeletal studies Neck/Thyroid StudiesVascular StudiesAssisting with other imaging studies and patient restraint as neededDigital RadiographsUltrasound-guided proceduresCT ScansNuclear Medicine studiesTraining others (i.e. interns, sonographers, etc) on performing ultrasoundsAbility to maintain prolonged arm positions necessary for scanningTyping on a computer keyboardPerforming general function of the phone systemData entry of imaging requests and creating report requests as neededRecording ultrasound study findings in logsRecording patient information in Cornerstone as neededAssisting in organizing and scheduling imaging studiesPerforming daily cleaning and maintenance on all ultrasound equipmentKeeping logs of any malfunction and contacting service companiesStocking and cleaning in ultrasound areaDisinfecting all equipment after each patientWorking a full shift on Saturday when neededOther Skills and Abilities:          Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including word processing, designing forms, maintaining files, dictation and transcription, communicating via email, and the use of computer programs to manage and maintain client and patient information.Ability to learn and work with E-Film, Remedyview, Mirage, and RDC software applications.Using social perceptiveness to be aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.  Ability to modify approach as appropriate.  Knowledge of clinic procedures in support of streamlining clients’ experiences with us.Knowledge of patient care standards in support of providing the highest level of medical case management.Knowledge of client communication standards to provide the highest level of customer service.GCVS operates similarly to a human hospital as things happen here that are confidential.
