Warren House Veterinary Group are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Rochester, Kent.
Are you looking to join a well-supported practice, with a longstanding team (84 years of Vet experience and 321 years’ experience as an entire team!), with the ability to work cases up to a high standard?
Would you like to work in the beautiful county of Kent, only a 40-minute train journey from London?
Here at Warren House, we are a progressive, small animal practice, providing a high standard of care to our patients. You will be working with a skilled team of Vets, including vets with interests in orthopaedics, ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and acupuncture.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate veterinary surgeon to join our expanding vet team. The ideal candidate must have a friendly approach, great communication skills and the ability to work up cases to a high standard. This role offers a great balance between consults and surgery, we are often able to prioritise your preference. We also encourage a great work life balance with flexible hours and protected admin time.
We see great case variety, with the option to work cases up and follow through internally rather than to always refer, but the non-pressured option to refer as required. We also see some exotics and would be open to develop this caseload if of interest to you.
Why I like working for the Warren House group – from some of the team at Warren House
'An excellent team - the whole team at Warren house are brilliant. We laugh every day and support one another both professionally and personally; we are definitely more like friends than colleagues. We have a group of very experienced vets and nurses who are happy to help one another when needed often without needing to be asked.’
‘I have recently changed my hours to suit my other love outside of work, which is riding, and as a practice they were happy to do this.'

About Us
The Warren House Veterinary Surgery first opened in 1982 at the Rochester site. Since starting the business, it has continually grown and is now a group of four small animal practices, all based in the Medway Towns.
The branches all have 2 to 3 consulting rooms, separate dog and cat wards, prep rooms, and sterile surgical theatres and a Digital dental Xray will be in place in 2024. Each branch also has its own clinical facilities so that we can offer inhouse laboratory services, digital x-ray, and ultrasound facilities on all sites. We also have endoscopy facilities across the group and our fabulous team of vets have a vast array of special interests from orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery to ophthalmology, dermatology, and complementary therapies. We are happy to employ the services of peripatetic specialist when needed as well, meaning our patients do not always need to travel to referral centres. We also support and encourage further study if this is something you wish to pursue.
Our teams are headed up by the Clinical Director and Group Practice Manager who are supported in the senior leadership team by the Lead Vet, Clinical Nurse Manager and Client Care Manager. We then have nurse and client care leads across the group to offer further managerial support to the teams. Currently we have 8 Vets on the team, 18 RVNs, 3 VCA's and 15 Client Care team members across the group to help meet the needs to our customers. Our teams work across the whole group supporting each other fully. We also have two administrators who take care of some of the finances for the company.
Some of our teams have been with the company since it opened almost 40 years ago, and we have both full and part time associates as we have quite a flexible approach and understand that work needs to fit in around life. We enjoy nights out as a team including meals, Christmas parties and open to new ideas from all team members.
Our Lordswood site works closely with the local cats Protection adoption centre raising money and this branch has achieved the cat friendly clinic silver award. The team from Lordswood are now working with our other sites to help them achieve accreditations too.
