Veterinary Surgical Intern
The Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic departments at Willows Referral Service are pleased to offer a 1-year Surgery internship training programme. The successful candidate will receive intensive training in clinical skills essential for the successful management of veterinary patients with surgical conditions and will undertake directed learning relating to surgical procedures and techniques. This programme is intended to allow veterinarians to expand their surgery knowledge base and skills in preparation for future training in a surgical residency. The role will also involve weekend working on a 1:3 rota to help alongside the primary care out-of-hours team, with compensatory days off given for weekend days worked. Applicants should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills; a very good command of spoken and written English is essential. A minimum of two years’ postgraduate experience in practice is essential and previous completion of a one-year rotating internship or its equivalent would be preferred.
