Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) is a comprehensive, referral specialty & emergency critical care veterinary hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for appointments, advanced imaging, surgery and emergency/critical care services. At our hospital, you'll be working alongside a large team of experienced & board-certified veterinarians with advanced specialized training who utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals. Our veterinary services include trauma treatment and critical care, medical oncology, radiation therapy oncology, cardiology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry/oral surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, MRI and CT, endoscopy, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
We are looking for a full time Veterinary Technician to compliment our Medical Oncology service. This is a controlled but quick paced environment that requires multitasking and organizational skill in addition to a broad nursing knowledge base and technical skills. We routinely have a large number of in-hospital patients, plus growing numbers of triages which come in 24/7. We depend on each member of the team to pull their weight and although we are a teaching hospital we do hope that this candidate would be able to hit the ground running.

This is a hands on position and is entry level. Animal handling experience is required.

Schedule:Day Shift, Monday through Friday.Holidays, weekends as needed. One on call shift per month is required - our nurses get to decide if they work in anesthesia or treatment on call! Compensation:Baseline pay is $18-34 per hour dependent on qualifications. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians receive an additional $2/hrVeterinary Technician Specialists receive an additional $4/hr$350 on call fee for Anesthesia on call on top of hourly pay!$300 on call fee for Treatment on call on top of hourly pay!Required Skills:Be proficient in organizational skills have an understanding of animal behavior have experience.Have the ability to multitask.Have exceptional communication skills.Have broad knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine.Be comfortable with blood/deceased animals, etc.Be flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player.Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision401(k) with a company match!Employee assistance programGenerous employee pet care discount at 80%!!Flexible scheduleFSA/HSALife insuranceDisability insurance Paid time offProfessional development assistanceReferral programUniform allowance for full time and part time employees Paid holidays/paid time and a half for working holidaysCE allowance up to $2500 per year, based on licensure!
