**VCA Animal Specialty Group** is a long-established 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital. We are a large teaching hospital with residency programs, specialty and rotating internships, and we host veterinary, RVT, and veterinary assistant student externships. We focus on and encourage learning and growth personally and professionally. **Neurology details and services:** VCA ASG has 3 fulltime board-certified Neurologists, one Neurology resident, two Neurology interns, and a highly experienced staff of licensed technicians and veterinary assistants. The department focuses on all thing relating to the nervous system, including head tilts, circling, seizures, limb weakness and paralysis, and much more. Some procedures include advanced imaging such as MRI and CT for diagnostic purposes, ventral slots and hemilaminectomies, spinal taps, EMG testing, etc. **What we're looking for:** Looking for experienced licensed veterinary technicians to work in our Neurology department and be a positive contributor to the team. **Ideal candidates must be proficient at the following:** + IV catheter placement + Venipuncture and U/S guided cystocentesis + Sample collection and processing (in-house and to outside labs) + Radiographs + Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery for stable and critical patients needing advanced imaging (CTs and MRIs) and neurological surgeries and procedures. + Ventilator use for IPPV preferred + Patient care + Calculating and preparing medications (including boluses, transfusions and CRIs) + Restraining for exams and performing diagnostics + Clients communication (histories, discharges, demos, prescriptions) **Applicants should be/have:** + **_Shifts are 10 hour shifts 4 days/week from 830am-7pm and must include at least one weekend day_** + VTS, RVT, RVT eligible required + 2 years experience in a veterinary hospital setting + Able to work at least one weekend day + Be able to communicate respectfully and compassionately + Receive and carryout instructions thoroughly, quickly and efficiently + Excellent multi-tasking skills in a busy environment + Outstanding organizational and time management skills + Able to provide exceptional client service and patient care + Work collaboratively in a team **Why You Should Consider Us** + VCA ASG offers competitive compensation packages from $28-$34, including medical, dental, vision insurance (after 30 days of employment), 401k (w/ company matching), paid vacation/sick time, paid holidays*, CE opportunities and allowances (for licensed technicians), license fees reimbursement, generous employee pet discounts, and much more! *Ask for details Job Type: Full-time 4/10 Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week **Benefits:** + 401(k) matching + Dental insurance + Employee discount + Health insurance + Health savings account + Life insurance + Paid time off + Parental leave + Professional development assistance + Referral program + Vision insurance **Schedule:** + Work Location: In person + 10 hour shifts 4 days/week + Day shift + At least 1 weekend shift required **If you are a current associate, you will need to apply through our internal career site.
