JOB TITLE: VIBRATING EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
We are seeking a qualified technician with experience in servicing vibrating equipment, including Vibrating Screens, Vibrating Grizzlys and Vibrating Feeders to join our Field Services team. You will be responsible for testing, consulting, maintaining and repairing equipment on industrial and mining customer sites across Africa. You will be required to give expert-level service and feedback to customer on equipment performance and production improvement activities relating to the products being supported. As part of the Metso Field Services team, you will be given Metso-specific product training and certification, but prior hands-on experience is required to be a successful candidate.
In this position, you will report to the Field Services Manager
This position is based at the Metso Alrode Service Centre, Alberton.
TEAM, YOU BELONG TO
You will join a team of technicians dedicated to installation, commission, planned maintenance and repairs on a host of Metso equipment. We are currently conducting mechanical maintenance work of crushers, screens, floatation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors, and other crucial areas of the plant to ensure continued operation.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Customers, Metso product specialist and Field Service Support teams. Our team culture is all about excellent customer service on Metso Equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Work as a member of a maintenance team for assembly, installation and commissioning, planned maintenance and repairs to Metso Vibrating Equipment. Detail testing using Metso technology and optimising the performance of our vibrating equipment. Perform all work in a planned and organized manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work on schedule Ensure that work performed meets all statuary requirements and company standards Housekeeping duties of the maintenance area In cooperation with the other maintenance personnel ensure the optimization plant performance and continued development of site maintenance Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all SHEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statuary and other regulations as required by law Continually review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department's occupational health, safety, quality, and efficiency performance Other duties as directed by the Line Manager Maintaining 5S within the working environment Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand Maximize performance on all equipment Complete job cards, logbooks, and inspection report
WHO YOU ARE
· Grade 12 (Matric)
· Trade tested fitter or millwright as a minimum.
· Minimum 5 years industrial or mining experience on vibration equipment.
· Computer literate
· Understanding our principles of professional customer relations and interaction
· Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation
· Ability to work in a team atmosphere

Leadership and relationship-building qualities, a bias for action, and detail-oriented behaviours are required A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines Good communication, co-operation, and interpersonal skills Strong technical, analytical, and mechanical skills and abilities Must be physically fit to work in hazardous conditions on mines and factories. Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards Must reside within the Gauteng district. And be able to be on-site within 45min from a breakdown callout.
