The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. Membership Portfolio Services is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. Each of the businesses within Membership Portfolio Services connect Card Members with Merchants - a key differentiator of our Membership Model - and which also represent a significant opportunity to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term. Amex Offers sits within the Membership Portfolio Services Team. Launched in 2012, Amex Offers is a digital advertising platform that connects Merchants, Advertisers and brands with the tens of millions of American Express Card Members across the globe. The Amex Offers team develops strategic marketing partnerships that deliver – through the Amex offers platform - unique differentiated value to reach high-spending Card Members in the digital channels where they engage with American Express. Through this solution, we can help advertisers get laser-focused on who our mutual customers are, what they want, and how we can meet their needs - delivering deep insights and maximizing results. **How will you make an impact in this role?** The Vice President, Business Development sits within the Amex Offers team reporting to the Vice President and GM. This individual will build and lead the Amex Offers Business Development team and spearhead efforts to identify and pursue new business opportunities that drive offer/ads volume and revenue growth. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in developing revenue-generating relationships and driving strong sales momentum/results in an everchanging media environment. **Key Responsibilities** + **Lead a team of 20 colleagues across the U.S.** + Build out a business development team, optimizing performance and productivity while delivering revenue and partner funded value. + In partnership with the Global COE, establish and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue growth. + Compliantly meet and exceed quarterly targets and annual scorecard. + Build agency and affiliate relationships to drive sales growth. + Work closely across the Blue Box to align sales efforts with overall company goals and long-term goals. + Effectively manage portfolio planning & pipelines across teams to drive acquisition of new advertisers and offer volumes. + Continuously develop team knowledge and expertise – including key selling skills, uncovering customer needs, handling objections, and closing sales. + Ensure all aspects of the American Express Code of Conduct, and our Sales Practices policies, standard, and procedures, are adhered to so that we uphold the highest standards in our interactions with our customers and compliantly meet all regulatory requirements. + Stay current with industry and advertising trends and ensure application of best practices to drive innovation and growth. **Minimum Qualifications** + Experienced people leader with at least 10 years of experience in Sales or Account Development, who can inspire, develop talent and drive organizational followership in their own team and across the enterprise. + Proven business development and negotiation experience. + Demonstrated ability to drive results through teams. + Excellent communication skills – the ability to influence and persuade through knowledge and impact. + Strong relationship management skills to deepen and grow partnerships across all levels. + Experience in pipelining, crafting pitches, and delivering proposals to prospective advertisers and agencies. + High energy self-starter with huge desire to win. + Represent Amex Offers at events, conferences and trade to serve as a business lead ambassador for the programs.
