Vice President, AVS AI & Data Science Leader
Job Description SummaryThe AI and Data Science Leader will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of AVS’s AI digital strategy and development/execution of our AI based roadmaps to deliver market leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in digital healthcare technologies, AI, and data science, a passion for improving healthcare through innovative solutions and a proven track record of delivering commercially successful digital healthcare solutions. In close collaboration with the Science and Technology Office (STO), the AI and Data Science Leader will work cross-functional and cross-business to drive AI based digital innovation and the associated initiatives and programs.

Job Description​The AI and Data Science Leader will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of AVS’s AI digital strategy and development/execution of our AI based roadmaps to deliver market leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in digital healthcare technologies, AI, and data science, a passion for improving healthcare through innovative solutions and a proven track record of delivering commercially successful digital healthcare solutions. In close collaboration with the Science and Technology Office (STO), the AI and Data Science Leader will work cross-functional and cross-business to drive AI based digital innovation and the associated initiatives and programs.

Strategic Leadership:

Help share and execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with AVS’s business goals and objectives.Develop and execute an AI roadmap for organically developed, 3rd party (3P) and co-innovation AI based tools and solutions.Establish a global AI partner network to deliver first to market tools and solutions.Establish an AI focused Commercial Research Network built on a global clinical data research portal.Identify opportunities to leverage AI and data science to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and business growth.Stay abreast of emerging AI trends, technologies, and best practices, with a focus on digital healthcare, to ensure AVS remains at the cutting edge of the industry.Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of digital initiatives. Monitor and optimize to enhance value.

Team Leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing, global AI and data science team.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.Manage the AI and data science department and program budgets.

Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget at market leading performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, quality, commercial, operational, and IT departments, to ensure successful project launches.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

AI and Data Science:

Drive the integration of AI and data science into the company's operations, identifying areas where these technologies can add material value.Oversee the development and deployment of AI models and data analytics solutions to support decision-making and improve patient outcomes.Ensure the ethical use of AI and data, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Work closely with clinical KOLs and innovators to translate AI tools and solutions into clinically transformational experiences.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Communicate the digital strategy and vision to internal and external stakeholders, including executive teams, board members, and investors.Build and maintain relationships with key partners, vendors, and industry experts to support the company's digital initiatives.Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and forums to promote its AI and digital capabilities and thought leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree or an Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.Must have successfully deployed FDA cleared AI tools into the market.Minimum of 10 years of experience in data science, AI, or related fields, with a focus on digital healthcare technologies.Proven track record of delivering commercially successful digital healthcare solutions.Must have 5-10 years of experience in leading and managing high-performing, global AI and data science teamsExperience in strategic planning and execution of AI and data science initiatives.

Additional Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, quality, commercial, operational, and IT departments.Ability to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI and data science, particularly in digital healthcare.Visionary mindset with the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and business growth.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $248,000.00-$372,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
