Vice President, Business Development, Federal Civilian - VA

Decision Lens is seeking a driven and ambitious Vice President of Business Development with a passion for innovative, cutting-edge technology. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving new business by identifying prospects whose challenges align with Decision Lens.

The ideal candidate will excel at building and nurturing relationships with senior leadership within the Federal Civilian Sector—including Veterans Affairs and other Federal Civilian agencies. 

Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue goals within the assigned territory. Identify, qualify, and close new opportunities, managing the entire sales process—from prospecting and outlining the value proposition to capturing the value, navigating contract negotiations, and providing post-sales support. Leverage industry expertise and relationships to create a territory strategy and identify prospects whose challenges align with Decision Lens solutions. Lead client-facing sales meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations that emphasize the solution’s value proposition. Engage with potential clients using a collaborative, consultative approach to identify and solve their problems through the solution. Collaborate with sales, account management, marketing, and partners to ensure alignment across business development and account strategies. Effectively utilize internal resources, including sales resources, partners, marketing, and executive leadership, to achieve revenue goals. Be adaptable and creative, finding innovative approaches to problem-solving, often in ambiguous situations. 
Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of ten years of experience, preferably in business development or similar roles involving complex, enterprise-level engagements with Federal Government agencies. Current relationships within the Department of Veterans Affairs and other Federal Civilian agencies. Ability to operate with urgency and a competitive, results-driven attitude. Proven experience engaging with C-level executives and other high-ranking executives. Excellent communication and presentation skills. 30% Travel.  

Location: This is a remote position with required onsite meetings in the DMV area and occasional travel outside the region. Decision Lens is headquartered in Arlington, VA.
