The Caterpillar Foundation is seeking a Vice President & Strategy Leader to provide strategic planning, management, and coordination of Caterpillar’s Corporate Social Innovation team and global philanthropic investments program for the worldwide network of Caterpillar facilities.
Reporting to the President of the Caterpillar Foundation and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, this role will enhance the Foundation and Company’s long-range planning, strategy implementation, and communications efforts with knowledge of grantees, Foundation history, and pertinent regulations, while ensuring quality and timeliness of all aspects of grants processing and management.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Executing Caterpillar’s philanthropic and social innovation strategy across corporate and foundation charitable contributions including but not limited to maintaining compliance, internal processes and technology for efficient use of Foundation and corporate resources.
+ Managing a team of employees that focus on grant and partnership management of the Foundation. Collaborate with indirect reports across Caterpillar facilities across the globe that are responsible for corporate community relations.
+ Supporting internal and external stakeholders in philanthropic activities, including managing the Foundation strategic programs budget involving the global communities for Caterpillar Inc.
+ Providing support to officers and Caterpillar Foundation Board members at public events, delivering support and developing presentations and speeches for Executive Office and Foundation Board members on topics relevant to the company’s corporate philanthropy, sustainability positions and social innovation agenda.
+ Collaborating with internal and external teams to develop and implement key Public Affairs and stakeholder strategies and events with regards to Corporate Social Innovation.
+ Collaborating with Enterprise Communications and support agencies to identify and execute impactful stories to amplify our brand. Represent Caterpillar Foundation on internal and external thought leadership platforms.
**What You Have:**
+ **Corporate Social Responsibility Expertise:** Minimum of 10-12 years of progressively responsible experience in roles managing the operations and administration of philanthropic grantmaking in a corporate environment (i.e., corporate giving and/or corporate foundation programs) and contributions programs is required for this position
+ **Organizational Governance:** Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.
+ **Risk Management:** Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Execution & Planning:** Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning & execution techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning and execution in support of the overall business plan.
+ **Collaborating Globally:** Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
+ **Stakeholder Management:** Knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them
+ **Team Management:** Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.
**Background & Experience:**
+ Proven ability to analyze all requests from a financial and execution viewpoint
+ In-depth experience and knowledge of the global CSR environment and communities
+ Expertise in strategic partnerships and program execution
+ Ability to influence community and national leaders and act as a catalyst to achieve broad cooperation
+ A strong background in global community relations and public affairs activities on both the business unit and corporate level is essential
**Top Candidates Will Also Have:**
+ Experience with the financial, legal and compliance issues pertaining to corporate and foundation charitable contributions
+ A passion for making a difference in society within a corporate environment
+ Global or multi-national experience is strongly preferred
+ Exceptional project management skills: extreme attention to detail required for materials appropriate for senior executives
+ Self-starter with a passion to advance projects and bring forward new ideas
+ Strong communication skills (both written and oral), including within a very collaborative environment interacting with senior corporate executives
+ Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, including collaborating with and influencing various stakeholders regardless of reporting and functional lines
+ Team oriented, collaborative, positive, diplomatic, good-humored and flexible; willingness to accommodate schedules across global time zones as needed

+ The primary location for this position is at our global headquarters in Irving, TX

**Summary Pay Range:**
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
