Vice President, Corporate Development and Planning

Eaton’s Corporate Finance Team is currently seeking a Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Beachwood, OH. Relocation will be provided for candidates living outside the 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH.

 

The Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy will report to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development & Planning who in turn reports to the CFO. 

 

This role will drive our business forward by developing effective strategic plans that align with our company's priorities. This pivotal role ensures that strategic planning is seamlessly integrated into our day-to-day operations, fostering continuous growth and innovation. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and exceptional communicator, adept at fostering relationships across all levels of the organization. This individual will play a key role in evaluating new opportunities for our company, including potential entry into adjacent market spaces. This role will help shape Eaton’s corporate strategy, performing financial analysis and industry research, collaborating with Eaton’s CEO, CFO, and other company leadership, and assembling presentation materials that are shared with Eaton’s Board of Directors and Investor community.
 

Essential Functions:

•    Identify business development opportunities, partnerships, and alliances that align with the company’s strategic objectives, present findings, and obtain organizational support to pursue.
•    Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, sector leadership to communicate and align on strategic objectives.
•    Develop value creating corporate strategies by performing financial analysis and industry research and collaborating with leaders across the company.
•    Synthesize strategy, valuation, and due diligence findings to develop communications for management and Board reviews while also collaborating with our legal team, functional leaders, and business leaders to develop transaction documents.
•    Collaborate with business teams to develop complete business cases with strategic and financial analyses.
•    Conduct thorough market research to inform strategic decisions and provide insights on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
•    Build effective corporate strategy presentations for Eaton’s senior leadership, Board of Directors, and external audiences.
•    Support teams through acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture processes
•    Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress of strategic initiatives and ensure the company is on track to meet its strategic initiatives.
•    On an ongoing basis, train the organization in Merger and Acquisition valuation, deal process, and corporate strategy development.
•    Maintain Investment Banking relationships.
 

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 
•    Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in finance, strategy, and/or mergers and acquisitions.
•    Experience presenting to and interacting with C-level executives, including the CEO and CFO.
•    Professional experience working in corporate development and strategy.
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    MBA or advanced degree. 
•    Corporate Strategy and/or M&A transaction experience in industrials, electrical, and aerospace industries.
•    Experience in strategic plan development and M&A pipeline development. 
•    Experience in navigating a complex matrixed global organizational structure.
•    Global experience including leading acquisitions or joint ventures with U.S., European, and Asian targets. 
•    Experience leading a wide breadth of transactions through due diligence, contract development & negotiations, signing, and completion over varied sizes from small (sub $25M) to large (over $1B).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $195000.03 - $286000.04 a year.  This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
