In this critical role, you will develop and lead the strategic practice using macro intelligence combined with deep business acumen to outpace competitive threats and maximize competitive advantages to improve Western Union’s market capitalization.

Responsibilities

High-level leader, advisor to the CEO, advisor to the Investment Council/Process Strategy Dimension, monitor for KPIs, milestones, deliverables, etc.

Articulate key strategic priorities into a comprehensive strategic plan. Communicate and implement internally and externally so that all stakeholder decisions, particularly resource allocation, are aligned to the company-wide strategic plan.

Facilitate an inclusive strategic planning process and work with departmental/unit leaders to translate strategies into actionable and measurable plans.

Monitor strategic initiatives to ensure departmental/unit projects reflect organizational strategic priorities. Challenge and remove work/projects that are not definitively aligned to the strategy.

Mobilize and manage teams charged with executing strategic imperatives. Partner with organizational leadership, special committees, and consultants to support execution of key initiatives to include both organic and inorganic growth, i.e., analyzes and recommends expansion opportunities including M&A.

Develop and utilize business intelligence to assess trends and outlooks and make changes to create competitive advantage.

Role Requirements

10+ years strategy development and execution for large financial institutions or strategy consultation

Proven ability to apply sound change management and whole-system thinking to create sustainable improvements

Track record of developing creative solutions to complex problems utilizing external intelligence

Able to take a strong leadership role in implementing policies and procedures to support organizational objectives and business success

Able to have transparent and productive relationships with peers and collaborate successfully

Ability to be a company-wide change-agent that influences strategic actions and mindset changes

Salary

The base salary range is $225,000 – $275,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
