About the Role As the Vice President of Data, you will be instrumental in driving CARSOME's data-driven transformation. You will lead a talented team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to unlock the power of data and deliver innovative solutions that fuel our growth and success. Your Day-to-Day Strategic Leadership + Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team, including the CEO and Board, on the progress of data initiatives and performance metrics. + Act as a thought leader for data-driven innovation, advocating for the importance of data across all business units. + Build strong relationships with external data partners, vendors, and consultants to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends. + Partner with business leaders to Identify and prioritise opportunities to leverage data for business outcomes, including customer insights, process optimisation and product innovation. + Foster a data-informed culture across the organisation, promoting data literacy and encouraging data-driven decision-making. + Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and ROI of data initiatives. + Continuously monitor and optimise the performance of data platforms, processes, and models. Team Leadership + Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing data and analytics team including data scientists, data engineers, analysts and data quality engineers, attracting and retaining top talent. + Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages experimentation and learning. + Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, empowering them to reach their full potential. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product and Engineering, IT, Marketing and Operations. Data Infrastructure & Governance + Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure to support real-time analytics and reporting. + Ensure data governance policies are in place, promoting data accuracy, consistency, and security. + Implement best practices for data management, quality assurance, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Data Products & Insights + Drive the development and deployment of data products, predictive models, and machine learning algorithms to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. + Translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations for leadership. + Work closely with the technology teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems with business operations. Your Know-How + Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields. + 10+ years of experience in data leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering impactful, data-driven solutions. + Strong technical skills and experience in data engineering, data science and machine learning and cloud data solutions (e.g., AWS and/or Google Cloud). + Experience in scaling data operations in fast-paced, high-growth environments. + Experience in leading and managing large, cross-functional teams with an ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
