Job Summary
As we expand, we seek a Vice President of Data Architecture to modernize our data engineering practices and enhance our business intelligence capabilities. This strategic role will transform our data infrastructure to meet the demands of a fast-paced, data-driven organization.

The Vice President of Data Architecture will design and implement scalable data architectures that support our Data & Analytics team and the broader business. A key focus will be upskilling our data engineering and business intelligence teams to adopt best practices in data management, governance, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data engineering, cloud-based platforms, and contemporary BI solutions, playing a vital role in aligning OUTFRONT’s data infrastructure with our growth objectives.

What You’ll Do

Data Architecture & Strategy:

Develop and lead the data architecture strategy, aligning it with overall business goals and the needs of the Data & Analytics team.Design scalable, secure data infrastructures using cloud technologies and modern best practices.Implement best-in-class ETL pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses to enhance data processing, analysis, and reporting.

Team Development & Upskilling:

Mentor and lead the data engineering and BI teams, promoting modern data practices such as cloud architecture and real-time data processing.Foster a culture of continuous learning within the Data & Analytics team, ensuring familiarity with emerging technologies and methodologies.Encourage collaboration between data engineers and BI developers to ensure architectural decisions support analytics needs.

Business Intelligence Modernization:

Introduce modern BI approaches, focusing on self-service analytics, real-time reporting, and advanced data visualization.Collaborate with BI teams to ensure data architecture supports insightful, actionable business reports.Streamline the flow of data from ingestion to insights, enabling the team to focus on value-added tasks.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with stakeholders, including data analysts, product managers, and executives, to ensure data solutions meet business needs and scale appropriately.Partner with IT, engineering, and security teams to ensure data solutions are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance.Communicate data architecture decisions and progress clearly to stakeholders, aligning expectations and delivering results.

Governance & Data Management:

Develop and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and integrity across the organization.Establish processes for managing data access, lineage, and compliance, adhering to regulatory standards.Maintain proper documentation and management of data assets for transparency and auditability.

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

Experience: 12+ years in data engineering, architecture, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position, preferably within a digital media or advertising environment.Technical Skills: Proven expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures, with hands-on experience in platforms like Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP. Deep knowledge of modern data engineering tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., ADW, Snowflake, Redshift).Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring data engineering and BI teams, focusing on team development and collaboration.Business Intelligence: Strong understanding of BI solutions and analytics platforms (e.g., OAC, Looker, Tableau, Power BI).Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities, with a talent for influencing technical decisions across teams.Adaptability: Ability to manage priorities and tasks effectively in a fast-paced advertising environment.Governance Expertise: Knowledge of data governance, quality management, and compliance with industry regulations.Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.

For NY, California, and Connecticut, the salary range for this role is $260,000-$280,000 per year. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.   Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law, and the California Salary Transparency Law, and the Connecticut Salary Transparency Law.
