Vice President, Duck Creek Policy Product Architect

The Information Technology team equips our colleagues with the latest tools to complete their work efficiently and with the highest standards of excellence. The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance. The Duck Creek Policy Product Architect will lead the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP) Duck Creek Product Architecture strategy, leveraging systems, data, and processes, while aligning with the business strategy. The role will deliver business value through driving transformation in workflow, pricing and product development on the SCUP Digital Workflow and Policy Administration System for Commercial Insurance. Responsibilities + Lead a team of Technical Business Analysts to define insurance products, define Duck Creek hierarchy and re-use, and define low level technical requirements, for new or changes to existing SCUP products. + Lead workshops with Business Subject Matter Experts (Underwriting, Operations, Actuarial etc), across geographical regions and Lines of Business, to elicit Business requirements that will in turn be translated into technical requirements. + Facilitate meetings with divergent Business Subject Matter Experts, and IT Architects, while driving consensus on requirements. + Lead and mentor a team of technical BAs. + Transform requirements from the Business SMEs into detailed System requirements. + Document requirements to allow business partner prioritization, while minimizing unnecessary variation. + Define insurance products with a focus on Duck Creek + Ability to work directly with IT Architects and Development teams to explain and answer questions on requirements, and triage defects. + Channel business input to solution design and validate against business objectives. + Proactively chase open questions/issues to drive Requirements artefacts to approval. + Conduct quality review of Requirements artefacts produced by the technical BAs. + Ability to lead Business demos with Senior Leadership. + Build effective working relationships with business partners, and across the project team at all levels, to aid effective collaboration and communication. + Conduct retrospectives/lessons learned and present recommendations to continually improve processes and templates. + Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar. + 10+ years Commercial Insurance experience in a similar position (with similar responsibilities to those described above). + Experience defining Product Frameworks (including Product Definition, rules, inheritance) with Duck Creek technology. + Experience with defining & implementing global commercial insurance products with Duck Creek Policy + Process and workflow improvement experience required. + Proven track record of engaging with business executive stakeholders. + Ability to drive alignment on scope, requirements, and designs across multiple diverse business groups. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Prior experience working in an international environment is an advantage. + Adaptable and can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. + Flexible during times of change. + Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. + Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, and other teams/departments. The base salary range for this position in New York, NY is $118,000 -$178,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
