VP, Executive Recruiter

Business Unit Overview:

The Executive Recruiting team is a high performing global team that supports Managing Director and strategic hiring across the BlackRock franchise. Since 2012, we have completed hundreds of assignments across all of BlackRock’s business units and have outperformed or equalled our retained providers on nearly all of our other KPI’s (diversity, time-to-hire, etc.)

Role Description:

The Executive Recruiter will be responsible for independently leading a high-touch and world-class end-to-end executive search process for Managing Director level and strategic searches for BlackRock’s Investments and Client Businesses platform in EMEA. This includes all front-line functions across investments (public, private, index markets) and client businesses (institutional and wealth channels)

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee a high-touch, cradle-to-grave, recruiting process that includes research, sourcing, assessment, offer negotiation, closing and onboardingSourcing and assessing qualified candidates for open roles and maintaining a pipeline via market mapping, conducting research and leveraging additional recruiting toolsHeavy emphasis on creative direct sourcing of external talentManaging search firm relationships/leveraging agency expertise (albeit very limited)Providing consultative support to senior business and HR stakeholders, sharing relevant market insights and competitive intelligenceCapture and report on key metrics that show results, trends and opportunities in key talent markets and supported businessPartnering with the HR Executives & Talent Management to support critical succession planning needsMeet new/recent hires to leverage referrals and competitor intelligenceResponsible for timely production and delivery of search progress reports to internal clientsRegular update meetings and frequent communication throughout the recruitment processShare manager/stakeholder feedback and appropriately disposition all candidateMeet or exceed hiring and cost avoidance goals while proactively building a diverse pipeline of top talent

Requirements:

12+ years (or commensurate track record) of executive level recruiting and research experienceMajority of experience should be spent working within a fast-paced financial services firm or reputable executive search firm supporting asset management, investment banking, and/or alternative investment focused clientsExperience recruiting for senior sales and/or relationship management executives (Product Strategist, Client Portfolio Managers, Distribution, Country Heads etc.) strongly preferredProven success with direct sourcing; ability to utilize research resources, networks and cold-calling to deliver candidatesCommunicates with a level of gravitas and sophistication to collaborate with, and influence senior-level candidates, hiring managers and HR colleaguesTrack record of effectively negotiating and closing senior-level hires; including complex compensation and offer termsStrong relationship skills with the ability to build partnerships with clients, HR colleagues and vendorsMust be a self-starter who can work independently in a dynamic environment of change, challenge, sensitive deadlines and competing prioritiesStrong project management with ability to manage complex assignments and multiple searches while delivering a high level of customer service Commercial and entrepreneurial self-starterSuperb communication and interpersonal skills, including strong influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
