Introduction:
Lineage is one of the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions with more than 25,000 employees across over 400 locations and spanning 20 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America.
Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking to recruit for a VP in Finance based in Netherlands and responsible for 11 European countries. A large part of the team is located in Rotterdam so this would be an ideal location but we would also consider other locations within Netherlands for the right candidate. This role reports into the Global VP of Finance.
Role overview:
The ideal candidate for the VP, Finance – Europe role is an experienced, highly qualified financial leader who is ready for a stimulating and unique challenge. The VP of Finance will lead a 150+ multi-country European based finance team, participate as a Senior team member in the Region and develop strategies, execute operating plans and align financial policies and procedures with company objectives.
This role will provide leadership and development of company financial planning and performance management across all European locations. The role will lead and direct development of consolidated Finance Functions, Information Systems, Policies and Procedures and Governance Framework that supports regulatory compliance and shareholder objectives.
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and trusted partner to the CFO, Global Leadership Team and Regional Leadership Teams. They will work closely with the President of Europe for Lineage to align country strategies with overall shareholder strategy objectives - ensuring all programs are aligned to the core values. Driving functional excellence in all key finance activities.
• Preparing budget and performance analysis and supporting budgeting/forecasting processes within the business
• Working closely with other regional and global teams on integrating processes, driving operational KPI understanding and action items required to deliver results
• Maintaining the prompt production of monthly income statements, balance sheets and statements of cashflow to ensure sound management and monitoring of cash flow and capital requirements
• Ensuring best practice efficiency and accuracy across core accounting functions, including cash management, daily financial operations and record-keeping
• Establishing and maintaining an effective Regulatory Compliance Framework that ensures compliance with Taxation and Statutory Reporting regulations
• Building out the European footprint by executing agreed M&A and greenfield growth strategies
• Maintaining and monitoring rigorous internal controls and safeguards
• Ensuring continued maintenance of corporate and business operational structures to maintain real estate investment trust (REIT) status for US tax purposes
To be successful, you will ideally have:
• A bachelor's degree is required; Masters or J.D. preferred
• Qualifications as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred
• Extensive experience in a similar, senior level finance role leading a large team across a geographically dispersed region
• Demonstrated proficiency in understanding current & new accounting regulations as well as how they will impact the business - this necessitates a strong understanding of both regional and US GAAP accounting principles
• Experience with both Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and real estate investment trust (REIT) operational requirements as they relate to US public companies
• A proven track record in M&A and establishing greenfield operations across multiple geographies in the European region
• Impressive credentials in leading multi-site finance functions as well as standardised compliance and management frameworks delivering audit, external taxation reporting across multiple geographies
• Demonstrable expertise in strategy development, program implementation, team building, mentoring, planning and on-boarding of new businesses
