The Vice President, Global Procurement – Center of Excellence will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Global Procurement Center of Excellence. The incumbent will be accountable for (and have experience in) driving consistency and efficiency across the organization. This includes refining capabilities to enable category teams to drive strategic change; ensuring systems are enabling category teams; designing processes which are fit for purpose; assessment, selection, and implementation of appropriate tools, and ownership of key policies. Through our Center of Excellence, build a foundation for efficient, global growth with processes and controls designed to enable success, not hinder it. This individual will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Procurement and work closely with the Global Procurement Leadership Team and executive stakeholders across Regeneron to achieve efficiency and maturity across assigned priorities. The role will be accountable for managing direct reports to drive short-term priorities in the Center of Excellence and the long-term vision to support stakeholder and Global Procurement priorities. They will lead the development, retention, and recruiting of talent to staff a Center of Excellence to enable the company’s Global Procurement team.
The role is based at our HQ campus in Sleepy Hollow, NY and is hybrid / onsite 3 days per week - it is not eligible for remote work.
A typical day may include:
Acts as an influential leader across varied businesses & senior stakeholders – leveraging critical thinking, change management, strong business acumen, and deep experience driving global procurement fundamentals – to develop strategic improvements to achieve Regeneron priorities.Leads and/or participates in senior management discussions related to Global Procurement processes, sets priorities for the Center of Excellence aligned with key stakeholder and Global Procurement priorities.Leads the Global Procurement Capability Center, including vendor management, buying, contracting, performance analytics, and category management capabilities.Accountable to execute Global Procurement Strategy and Delivery, including the development and success of our ESG (sustainability, small/diverse supplier, and mega supplier relationship management) programs.Represents the SVP, and Global Procurement in driving key organizational decisions and/or business processes as assigned with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the organization and company (including the management and improvement of key processes, the development and deployment of training, leveraging data analytics and technology).Leads and/or participates in company-wide projects representing supplier, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities where a broad understanding of procurement/company activities and stakeholder engagement/relationships are critical.Leads continued evolution of key priorities including Global Procurement’s systems and technology, training and development, and execution through both enabling category team capability and flawless delivery from the capability center.This role may be for you if you:
Demonstrate strong in-depth knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth and evolution of a Global Procurement organization.Have successfully lead global teams, processes, and suppliers within a multi-national biopharmaceutical organizationExhibit role-model leadership behaviors across an organization of direct reports to create clarity, provide a clear and understandable vision, and drive positive and productive change both within and outside of the organization – including senior executive leaders across Regeneron and our most critical suppliers.Operate with integrity, focus, clarity, and sound judgement in an environment of ambiguity to drive change and improvement for the Center of Excellence.Have demonstrated success in influencing and partnering with senior executives and peer functions to drive strategic change and efficiency.To be considered for this position you must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or an advanced degree and/or certification in a relevant field/function (preferred). Experience managing Director+ level professionals required with previous success driving results within a multi-national Global Procurement organization – both in category management and capability leadership roles. A qualified applicant will likely have ~20 years of experience in relevant functions/industries, demonstrating growth in experience, scale, and development throughout. Provide expert insight and knowledge regarding procurement process, systems, capability, and tools.
