SUMMARY DESCRIPTION 

The Vice President, Global Procurement is a key member of the global operations and supply chain team and has responsibility for leading all procurement activities throughout Integra with the mission of supporting the company’s business strategy by developing and managing a supply chain that enables a sustainable competitive advantage.  In includes, but are not limited to, direct material procurement, indirect material & capital equipment procurement, services, trade compliance, sourcing & supplier management, analytics, and forecasting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

 

Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with corporate goals, emphasizing cost reduction, supplier quality, risk mitigation, and innovation.   

Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships and long-term sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials, components, and services.  Direct the full range of actions required for contract negotiation and administration. 

Create a sustainable Supplier Relationship Management system which ensures building, maintaining and evaluating supplier performance KPIs including Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Delivery, Cost, and Environmental objectives.  

 

Develop strategic initiatives to reduce supplier-based risk by diversifying the supplier base, enhancing resiliency, and a thorough evaluation of financial stability, operational capabilities and compliance history. 

Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, and Operations to ensure alignment across product lifecycle phases and compliance with medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, MDR).  Ensure supplier compliance with applicable laws, ethical sourcing standards, and company policies. 

Optimize global sourcing strategies, including make-vs-buy decisions, total cost of ownership assessments, and supplier risk management frameworks. 

Drive digital procurement transformation and implement procurement technologies and data analytics tools for spend visibility and operational efficiency. 

Review and manage procurement, including complex bid processes for conformance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and procurement practice, ensuring fair and open competition and best benefit to the Corporation in purchasing assisting management with assembling and maintaining high quality lists of potential bidders. 

Build a high-performance culture and team, empowering and holding direct reports and cross-functional teams accountable for successful operation and supply chain resilience. Leads with authority and influences globally across 14 manufacturing facilities and cross functional stakeholders including but not limited to quality, product development, process technology, operations, supply chain, procurement, regulatory affairs, finance, and human resources. 

Prepare and present executive level material for board meetings, investor presentations, executive and divisional reviews, CEO, staff, and employee meetings.  Providing advice to officers, management officials and the broader organization to guide in the creation of procurement strategies. 

Identifies key skills and capabilities needed to assess team strengths and weakness, and partners with Human Resources to recruit, retain, and build top-tier talent.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field required, master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred 

Certifications:   

Experience:  18+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain and/or operations, 5+ years in a strategic leadership capacity 

Leadership skills to develop strategy, lead/coach/mentor teams to both develop and execute plans. 

Deep knowledge of global sourcing, contract manufacturing, and regulatory compliance in medical devices. 

Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools. 

Proven success managing complex global supply chains and supplier networks. 

Decision-making skills to act independently including situations with significant ambiguity 

Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal), strong documentation skills, ability to communicate technical concepts  

Excellent organizational and planning skills and experience in establishing process and procedures, analyzing, and developing process improvements 

Highly flexible, able to appropriately re-prioritize activities and work variable hours  

Works well under pressure, able to remain focused and professional during high stress situations  

Ability to perform in fast paced environment.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED 

Ability to utilize a computer, telephone and copy machine as well as other general office equipment. Strong computer skills are required.
