What to expect.
As a member of Sheppard Pratt’s executive team, you will guide our Human Resources team in creating innovative, people-centered solutions that support employees, enhance organizational culture, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
Strategic HR Leadership
Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with Sheppard Pratt’s organizational goals. Lead a team focused on fair and consistent employee relations practices. Oversee competitive compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to attain and retain top talent. Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including employees, applicants, and regulatory agencies. Manage the HRIS to ensure data integrity and leverage analytics for informed decision-making.Culture Development and Employee Experience
Champion a positive, inclusive organizational culture rooted in Sheppard Pratt’s mission and values. Design and implement employee engagement strategies to foster connection and belonging. Lead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure equitable hiring, retention, and promotion. Oversee leadership development and talent growth programs to empower our workforce.Compliance and Risk Management
Develop and enforce policies that align with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Conduct audits and oversee reporting to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.Team Leadership
Mentor and manage and a high-performing HR team, fostering accountability and collaboration. Provide expert consultation to managers on employee concerns and organizational development.What you’ll get from us.

What we need from you.
Required
One of the following combinations of education and experience: A master’s degree in human resource administration, business administration, law, or closely related field and 7 years of experience. A bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience. Proven experience in Human Resources with a strategic and analytical mindset. Deep knowledge of employment laws and best HR practices. Demonstrated success in driving DEI, culture, and employee engagement initiatives. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and team building skills.Preferred
