Vice President, Human Resources - Environmental Services

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Human Resources (HR) to lead and shape the HR function for our Environmental Services group. This role is critical to driving HR strategies that align with our mission and goals while ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.



 

Position Overview:

The Vice President, Human Resources, will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Environmental Services group, focusing on building a best-in-class HR function within an established and rapidly evolving organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in entrepreneurial environments, navigating fast-paced changes, and building scalable HR processes. This leader will partner closely with the executive team to design and implement HR strategies that support organizational growth, operational excellence, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute HR strategies that support the organization’s long-term mission and business goals.

HR Function Development: Lead the establishment of HR functions within existing organizational structures, ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability for growth.

Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the HR team, using data to assess success, drive continuous improvement, and maintain market competitiveness.

Compensation and Benefits: Design and implement competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs to attract and retain top talent.

Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with Canadian and USA employment laws and regulations, and champion HR best practices across the organization.

Employee Relations: Provide leadership and guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational development initiatives.

Talent Acquisition and Development: Partner with business leaders to identify workforce planning needs, design talent attraction strategies, and drive leadership development programs.

Change Management: Lead HR initiatives to support organizational change, ensuring alignment with business objectives and employee engagement.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in HR or an equivalent discipline is a strong asset.

Experience

10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a clear track record of success in HR leadership roles (e.g., HRBP, Director, or Senior Director).

Demonstrated expertise in carving out and building HR functions within existing companies, particularly in entrepreneurial or fast-paced environments.

Proven ability to design and implement scalable HR strategies and processes.

Skills and Competencies

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Proven leadership and team-building skills.

In-depth knowledge of Canadian and USA employment laws and HR best practices.

Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
