What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Vice President, Index Exotics Trader in New York, NY

(multiple positions available):

Responsible for trading/pricing complex index exotics equity derivatives products in both primary and secondary market using advanced mathematical and stochastic pricing models and numerical techniques.Ensure client trades are priced and risk managed appropriately.Responsible for Risk monitoring to ensure the continuity of business and performance of the book.Work with risk management regarding index exotics portfolio client strategy, and operational risk management.Leverage in depth knowledge of Greeks (Vega, Gamma, Cross-Gamma, Theta, correlation delta) and higher order Greeks dynamics of exotic equity derivatives to optimally risk manage complex index exotics derivatives trading book.Apply mathematical/statistical modeling techniques to back test and generate efficient trading strategies for index exotics book.Conduct market research of index volatility, forward volatility, correlation and dispersion levels, key macro and company events to capture trading/hedging opportunities.Design new index exotics products to capture new clients’ need and more precisely recycle higher order risks of index exotics book.Work closely with Quants on developing cutting edge pricing models and over hedge methodologies to more precisely pricing and risk management index exotics products.Entail training other traders on the desk as well as working with Structuring and Sales advising clients.Collaborate with IT to build and enhance advanced trading systems for optimal risk management and more precise pricing and executions.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $275,000 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $302,500 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions. 

Accountabilities

Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.
