**What You Can Expect**
The **Vice President, Information Technology (IT) - Analytics, Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)** will serve as a member of the IT Leadership Team (ITLT) and contribute to Zimmer Biomet becoming the boldest company in MedTech through leadership of our enterprise-wide analytics, data and AI strategy, governance, transformation, and execution to inform business decisions, improve operational effectiveness, and to create new growth opportunities. Zimmer Biomet is a leader in driving machine learning (ML/AI) throughout our products and operations and the person in this role will have the unique opportunity to lead through a diverse team and industry leading portfolio of solutions and capabilities.
The person in this role will collaborate with senior and executive leaders across Commercial, Research and Development (R&D), Operations, and Corporate Functions to drive market leading growth and efficiency. As part of Data Innovation, the person in this role will lead the development and governance of Zimmer Biomet’s AI strategy to unlock future value for R&D groups and across the enterprise balanced with comprehensive risk management and AI by design principles. The person in this role will partner closely with leaders responsible for Information Security, Data Privacy, and Legal to ensure the protection and compliance of Zimmer Biomet’s data assets.
The person in this role will lead teams responsible for Data: Strategy, Quality & Governance, Management & Operations, Innovation, Analytics, AI, Architecture, Engineering, Warehousing, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and evolving technologies like data mesh to ensure that data is effectively leveraged across the enterprise as an asset and delivers measurable value.
**How You'll Create Impact**
+ Facilitate the continuous development of team member and functional capabilities to ensure team member engagement, performance, growth and agility.
+ Deliver large scale transformational programs and targeted operational projects that build incremental revenue sources, streamline business process and data, reduce complexity and cost, rationalize technology, and ensure sustainability.
+ Assess emerging technologies and identify new methods to improve the organizations strategic position and business performance through a data strategy aligned with the technology strategy. Provide insights to executive leadership on technology advancements relevant to business areas and ensure IT is enabling profitable growth strategy. Develop, communicate and garner support for the Data & Analytics strategy, roadmap, and ongoing operational performance.
+ Ensure compliance with the standards and regulations required for the industry and ensure technical health and sustainability through technology currency and day-to-day ongoing operations.
+ Deliver on Zimmer Biomet’s strategic outcomes by making decisions in alignment with our Guiding Principles while role modelling ZBs Culture Promises and Leadership competencies.
**What Makes You Stand Out**
+ Demonstrated technology knowledge including business and technical architectures, software and infrastructure platforms, security and controls, and applicable data required to enable the supported functional areas
+ Data Engineering platforms, e.g., Synapse, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.
+ Cloud experience with major vendors AWS, Azure, GCP
+ Data Mesh and more advanced architectural models
+ Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) / Language Learning Model (LLM) and AI at scale for platform leverage across the enterprise
+ Data engineering with experience in ETL and data warehousing
+ Data science expertise with data modeling, ML algorithms and data mining techniques.
+ In-depth business acumen regarding business process, operational drivers, and key enterprise performance measures.
+ Demonstrated track record of leading and building high performing teams
+ Proven ability to define and deliver highly complex and multi-national programs that enable business transformation and deliver bottom line business objectives and ROI.
+ Excellent interpersonal relationship management skills with strong customer focus, high emotional intelligence for organizational navigation, effective communication and presentation skills to all levels of the organization including front-line employees and C-suite executives.
**Your Background**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with 12+ years of progressive relevant experience required; Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with 10+ years of progressive relevant experience preferred.
+ Experience leading teams of internal employees and external partners is required.
+ Experience in data management and governance is required
+ Experience working in Medical Device or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
+ Experience working in a variety of industries, functional areas and countries is helpful.
+ Experience managing a $6m+ budget is preferred, $3m is required
+ Experience with modern tools, e.g., SAP BW on Hana, SAP MDM, Azure, Informatica, MuleSoft, Tibco, IBM Infosphere, SAP PO, etc.
**Travel Expectations**
+ 10% - 20% travel globally can be expected during an average year
+ Corporate office hours align with standard business days, Eastern Time
+ Work during evenings and on weekends can be expected.
+ Work can be from home, a Zimmer Biomet office, or a mix of both
