Summary

This role is identified as a leader and shall be responsible to collaborate with Sanford Executive Leadership, Administration and the Department Leadership to develop and coordinate overall strategy for precision medicine at Sanford Health.

Job Description

Collaborate with organization, clinical, and laboratory leaders to develop and strengthen the Imagenetics initiative and clinical genetics to meet the future needs of the organization. Apply knowledge of genetics and genomics to create and sustain a system-level, focus on use of genomic sequencing data, including expansion of the use of genetic and genomic information in clinical practice. Leverage positive influence as a leader within the broader organizational structure. Responsible for establishing medical, strategic, and operational goals, processes, and services. Foster an integrated approach to providing support for the three key areas of the Imagenetics initiative: clinical care, education and research. While primarily an executive role, this individual may also spend time in clinical practice, research or teaching related to their specialty.

Qualifications

MD or DO required. Must have completed an American Medical Association (AMA) residency and be certified, or eligible for certification, by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).

Minimum of ten years of practice experience and experience in a physician leadership governing role or sufficient experience to maintain a clinical practice required. Experience in adult genetics and internal medicine or family medicine preferred.

Current licensure in the state of practice. Must also be drug enforcement administration (DEA) certified in the state of practice. Certification by the appropriate American Board of Specialties within the first three years of employment is required and must be maintained. Must continue to meet the criteria for medical staff appointment and reappointment at Sanford Medical Center.
