About the position:

Relationship Manager for the leading Metals, Mining and Fertilizer (“MMF”) financier in the world.  Located in ING’s New York office, this role will ultimately report up to the Head of ING MMF Americas in New York. The Metals, Mining & Fertilizers team is part of a dynamic global team with offices in New York, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Singapore. We are a leader in covering companies and funds active across the metals & mining sector and battery metals value chain, often taking the lead in a variety of transactions including project finance, acquisition finance and structured corporate financings, as well as involved in financial markets (strategic and flow hedging of commodity prices, FX, and interest rates), transaction services, as well as DCM/ECM and (debt) advisory. As a leading player in this space, we actively work with our clients to provide tailored solutions.Looking for your next opportunity for development? The Vice President role offers a mix between the financial, technical, legal, and commercial aspects of managing client relationships. You will work with other team members in the analysis, financial modeling, negotiation, sourcing, and managing of client relationships and complex financings across the sector in the Americas.

About the department:

You assist in the origination of new business opportunities including pitches to secure mandatesYou manage the execution efforts for mandated transactions and ensure their timely and successful closing under the direct supervision of a Deal Principal, working together with the Transaction Management teams.You evaluate prospects on the basis of their technical feasibility studies (N43-101) and work closely with the independent technical consultants.You are part of the global Metals, Mining & Fertilizers platform, identifying trends that lead to new opportunities.You contribute to meeting revenue and fee targets and assist in meeting the regional and global KPIs.You seek opportunities to improve cross buy and fee revenues alongside financings, to enhance client relationships and returns.You serve as the point person to coordinate together with the Transaction and Portfolio Management Teams the preparation and organization of greenlight memos, due diligence, credit approval packages and KYC.You interface with the Portfolio Management team to closely monitor portfolio of accounts, alerting the MD and Directors on negative trends and other developments as they occur.You liaise with other internal departments including Risk Management, Syndications, ESR, DCM, and Financial Markets as needed.

Responsibilities :

Qualifications / Education:

You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/Finance/Engineering (additional Accounting background would be preferred) with excellent resultsPreferably MBA graduate / CFA holder, or Mining / Geology degree

Experience / Knowledge:5+ years of investment / corporate banking experience preferably in the structured and project finance / commodities sector, and ideally with working experience in Americas; or relevant experience in the mining industry itself.You possess a deep understanding of corporate debt structures and ideally project finance.You are adept at performing financial analyses with a strong interest in the sector and commercial acumen.You have strong financial modelling skills and are familiar with accounting methods and cash flow statements.Competencies:You have excellent analytical, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.You possess the ability to deliver with efficiency and effectiveness with minimal day-to-day oversight (i.e. a self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities).You demonstrate determination and dedication towards achieving results.You are willing to prioritize workstreams and are comfortable working towards tight deadlines to support the team and clients.You have a consistent history of performing at the highest ends of review and appraisal metrics.You are an excellent team player.

Salary Range $180,000-$240,000
