What is the opportunity?

The primary focus of the role is to provide Non-Financial Risk (NFR) governance for the CM – CB & GC division through effective execution of RBC’s NFR programs (e.g., RCSA, ICMP, RCM, etc.). This role will also lead or contribute to NFR related projects/initiatives to further strengthen the division’s operational control environment. 

What will you do?

Fully execute the division’s NFR programs in accordance with RBC policies, including but not limited to the new Digital RCSA/Risk Register program, the expanded ICMP/control testing requirements, and the continuously evolving RCM/regulatory compliance program.Assess and articulate the division’s non-financial risk profile and provide regular and timely updates to the division’s senior leadership and/or its Operating Committee; escalate material issues / trends as required.Keep up to date of relevant regulatory and/or internal policies. Liaison effectively with internal governance & oversight functions and contribute to policy/program advancement on behalf of the division.Support CB&GC teams through regulatory and/or internal audit engagements by overseeing issue & action formulation and monitoring progress towards timely issue closure.Leverage NFR program outputs and regulatory & internal review findings to proactively identify operational vulnerabilities. Work collaboratively with CB&GC teams to strengthen our business processes and the overall operational control environment.As an integral member of a NFR center-of-excellence team for the CM – Global Corporate Banking group (coverage includes both CB&GC and Transaction Banking divisions), promote a strong risk culture, share best practices, and drive sound decision-making.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

University degree with minimum 5 years of related experience in risk management/capital markets.Corporate lending/credit related experience preferable.Solid grasp of non-financial risk and compliance management policies/programs/practices.Ability to contextualize principle-based policies and regulations in appropriate business environment.Strong governance mindset and good understanding of capital markets products, systems, and processes.Capacity to analyze, streamline and prioritize complex issues and form balanced views based on risk and reward.Enquiring mindset with proven ability to think logically and execute independently.Excellent verbal, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to lead workshops and projects.Strong organizational skills with proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities and meet target timelines.
