Responsibilities The Vice President of Data Center Operations is responsible for leading and managing the operational excellence, reliability, and strategic direction of our data center assets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing critical infrastructure operations, vendor relationships, customer-facing communications, and strategic planning. They will lead operations in alignment with company objectives, ensuring industry-leading uptime, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include: Develop, implement, and oversee operational standards, policies, and procedures to achieve best-in-class uptime, reliability, efficiency, and safety. Lead the operational strategy for data center facilities, including critical infrastructure (power, cooling, security, compliance) and network connectivity. Manage relationships and SLAs with third-party operational partners, vendors, and contractors, ensuring seamless execution of operations and projects. Drive sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency (PUE), and ESG compliance in alignment with corporate objectives and customer contracts. Oversee facility maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution. Act as the primary operational liaison with customers, providing transparency, reporting, and strategic alignment with their operational goals. Collaborate closely with internal teams (sales, finance, legal, and engineering) to support asset optimization, financial performance, and growth strategies. Plan and execute operational budgets, monitor operational expenditures, and drive cost optimization initiatives. Oversee operational systems supporting access control, BMS, EPMS, CMMS and other relevant systems Lead and develop internal operational teams, creating a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence. Support acquisition, due diligence, and asset disposition activities as part of the company’s asset strategy. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in data center operations, critical facilities management, or related fields. Proven track record managing hyperscale or wholesale colocation data center operations. Deep understanding of critical infrastructure components including electrical systems, cooling systems, network connectivity, and operational best practices. Demonstrated experience managing third-party operations vendors and transitioning operational models. Strong knowledge of industry certifications, compliance frameworks (SOC, ISO, HIPAA, etc.), and regulatory standards. Proven ability to engage effectively with hyperscale customers, manage high-stakes relationships, and deliver against stringent operational SLAs. Exceptional leadership skills, including team building, mentorship, and talent development. Excellent financial acumen, including budget management, cost control, and financial planning. Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated base salary range: $250,000 - $300,000+ Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
