Classification: MnSCU Administrator 7 Unlimited, Full-time 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday) Hybrid (telework 2x/week) Salary Range: Annually from $131,198 - 145,530 * _Salary placement is dependent on education and experience_ **The vacancy is posted on-line from December 30, 2024 through January 20, 2025** **THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT** The Vice President of People and Culture (VPPC) stewards the college’s human resources, investigatory, and equity & inclusion functions in alignment with its mission, vision, and strategic goals. The VPPC provides the vision and oversight for People & Culture policy formulation, strategic planning, and new program and initiative development. These areas include executive leadership for employee relations, labor relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, change management, organizational development and training, and legal compliance for the college. This is a senior leadership, cabinet-level position that reports directly to the president. The VPPC collaborates with other college leaders on a diverse range of college-wide plans, projects, and initiatives; serves on a variety of committees and work groups; and may serve as the president’s designated representative of the college in community and public settings. This position will directly contribute to the achievement of the college’s strategic goals through individual, divisional, and college-wide efforts, which include achieving racial equity in educational outcomes, achieving associate degree or baccalaureate transfer completion rate of 50% or better, and supporting and sustaining a pervasive institutional culture of cultural responsiveness and service orientation. Reports to: College President **YOUR QUALIFICATIONS** **Minimum Qualifications required to be considered for an interview:** + Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, psychology, DEI, or related field + Seven (7) years of progressively senior leadership roles that include supervising, leading, and inspiring teams. **_Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we will interview for:_** + Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging in action. + High proficiency in the interpretation, oversight, and interaction of employment laws, labor standards, labor contract and compensation plans, Title IX, and Affirmative Action. + Demonstrated ability to lead change and grow the people-related function, preferably in a collaborative, non-profit or public sector organization. + Demonstrated ability to make data-informed, equity-minded, and independent decisions, including those regarding sensitive and confidential matters. + Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, and exceptional written, oral, and public speaking skills. + Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of a community college, with an understanding and appreciation of equity, inclusion, and belonging principles as they relate to higher education. + Working knowledge of key state and federal laws and regulations governing nonprofit and public sector organizations. **Preferred Qualifications** + Graduate degree in business, psychology, law, or related field. + Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR) and/or professional diversity and equity-related certification (IDI, etc.). + Robust strategic planning aptitude and organizational skills to strengthen the institution, work across divisions, and collaborate in a college or university setting. + Engagement & Retention: Experience in creating programs that boost employee morale, satisfaction, and retention rates. + Conflict Resolution & Mediation: Strong interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and mediate sensitive situations. + Cultural Responsiveness/Ethical Judgment and Integrity: High ethical standards, trustworthiness, and the ability to make decisions that prioritize the well-being of both employees and the organization and that utilize an inclusive and equitable mindset. + Understanding of higher education challenges and workforce needs. + Technology Proficiency: Knowledge of emerging People & Culture technologies, such as AI in recruitment or employee engagement platforms. **WHY NORMANDALE** Normandale (https://www.normandale.edu/) is the largest community college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, annually serving almost 15,000 students from a diverse set of backgrounds, 47% of whom are students of color and nearly 25% are first-generation.
