Vice President, Reporting

The AB CarVal Reporting function is composed of five professionals responsible for creating and executing reporting products for AB CarVal Investors senior management and other internal stakeholders, external investors, and regulatory bodies, as well as providing analysis and reporting to support business development activities. The Vice President, Reporting role will have responsibility for scheduled and ad-hoc report production, driving process improvements, and assisting with attribution management. This position will develop global knowledge of AB CarVal’s business and require close collaboration with investor reporting, capital formation, investment operations, technology, and other internal functions.
This position will report to the Managing Director, Reporting.
Principal Accountabilities
Oversee the preparation of standard monthly, quarterly, or annual investor reports in accordance with the requirements outlined in fund documents or as agreed to with investors. Ensure global data integrity of information in the reports and ensure that they are complete, and consistent with an understanding of the business activity.
Perform data reconciliation and attribution maintenance to ensure the consistency, accuracy, and completeness of AB CarVal data.
Evaluate and re-engineer existing processes for efficiency improvements and automation.
Develop an expertise in understanding the data that is captured and data flow within our data ecosystem and reporting tools to support the implementation of new reporting requests across the organization.
Maintain reporting systems and work with various groups to improve efficiency through automation of data gathering and reporting, allowing for reduced report preparation time, more time for value-added activities and analysis, and improved data integrity.
Support ongoing business development activities which may include providing responses to current and potential investor inquiries and requests, supporting the creation and review of ongoing marketing materials including pitchbooks and investor conference materials, and other ad-hoc requests.
Assist with the monitoring of our third-party administrators to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete delivery of data.
Provide analysis and reporting services for internal customers including senior management, fund operations, management company, compliance and others
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
5-8 years of experience reviewing and analyzing financial information and data
Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, find solutions, and determine best approach to proactively resolve issues.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask relevant, informed questions.
Expert Excel skills including proficiency with pivot tables, charts and data analysis tools.
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and handle multiple demands
Preferred
Investment, private equity, finance, or public accounting experience
Experience programming in structured query language or similar
Data management and validation experience
