This position is responsible for….
The Vice President, Sales is responsible for oversight of the domestic Sales team. S/he is responsible for establishing, implementing and driving achievement of revenue goals and objectives. This position is responsible for developing thorough, sometimes complex strategic plans to guide the actions of the Sales leadership team for achievement of goals; will provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to team for optimal results.
Your day will be very busy… you will:
Develops complex long and short range strategies for the domestic sales function based on corporate goals and growth objectives. Reviews the results of strategy and takes appropriate action to ensure that measures are taken to achieve desired business objectives.
Communicates sales strategies, plans, performance expectations and business conditions to the sales team including external independent sales representatives.
Works cross functionally with marketing, engineering and other departments to provide and interpret the voice of the customer and market insight to influence development of products and services that will address new markets, increase market share, and obtain a competitive position in the industry.
Identifies sales trends and opportunities then translates those insights into strategies and actions that further improve sales performance.
Effectively negotiates sales agent agreements which support the achievement of corporate objectives and establish strong execution capabilities.
Proactively identifies and implements differentiated capabilities and strategies that enable sustainable revenue and profit growth.
Provides leadership to ensure a work culture that maximizes employee talents, promotes a high performance work environment, and demonstrates consistent performance management, mentoring, coaching, and career development practices.
Manages a complex, multiplex, geographically distributed team of direct and indirect sales directors, managers and sales representatives. Facilitates consistent and frequent communication from field personnel to headquarters and vice versa to ensure optimal, open communication.
Participates in joint selling opportunities, client visits, ride alongs, and participation in or facilitation of trade shows and general meetings including large and small audiences.
Establishes clear metrics and a reporting cadence to ensure sales staff remains focused on achieving key priorities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Develops revenue, expense, staffing and profit budgets to achieve desired revenue and profit growth as well as improve operating efficiency to reduce costs. Continually monitors and analyzes budgets, reviews strategy and objectives, and formulates plans to ensure success.
Ensures that products are marketed and new products are introduced in accordance with planned objectives and within company policies to obtain maximum profitability. Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
Works with Finance and Human Resources to develop sales incentive/compensation plans and conducts timely and accurate employee performance audits and evaluations. Address performance issues on a continual basis throughout the year with both direct and indirect sales representatives and leadership teams.
Acts as a role model in demonstrating the company’s Culture of Accountability and preferred market image.
May Interact with the Board of Directors to inform, collaborate, and execute on agreed upon plans and activities to increase overall enterprise value.
Collaborates with the finance team to forecast performance and implements any necessary strategic and tactical changes to ensure achievement of annual objectives.
Leadership responsibilities include the selection, development, performance management and continuous recalibration of staff; ensures appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation; performs administrative tasks associated with planning, assigning and directing work, timekeeping, pay, performance, policy administration and other matters related to employment.
Assesses staff and provides timely and consistent feedback regarding technical proficiency and effectiveness. Provides constructive feedback, recognition, guidance, and reinforcement to employees regarding job performance. Works with staff to identify work goals and create individual development plans. Evaluates training programs to ensure content meets staff needs.
What your background will be:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required. 10+ years of experience leading a sales team in the medical device industry required. 5+ years of successful strategic and tactical sales leadership experience within the orthopedic or similar medical device industry including management of independent distributor principals. Previous work experience must demonstrate significant achievements in meeting and exceeding sales and revenue objectives including but not limited to increased market share, new product development, new market opportunities, and expanded distribution channels. Must have experience effectively leveraging a CRM Program both internally and with independent sales representation. Computer proficient to include web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems. Ability to develop and write both product development and business reports and correspondence relating to a broad range of functional activities is required.What we can offer you...

Salary Range
$275,000.00 - $300,000.00
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary/pay across all US locations. Actual pay is based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant trainings and certifications, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
