Position: Vice President, Sales - Expedited
Job Description:
The Vice President, Sales - Expedited will be responsible for driving new business growth, expanding existing business relationships, and building a high-performing sales team to achieve revenue goals. This individual will play a dual role as both a strategic contributor and a leader, ensuring the sales team is aligned with the company’s goals and equipped for success. The VP will generate new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and advancing prospects while fostering collaboration within the team to close deals and deliver value to customers.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results-driven success. Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to achieve company revenue objectives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals. Achieve and exceed revenue quota targets by driving the team to win new contracts and expand relationships with existing customers. Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the sales team. Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring team members maintain an adequate flow of qualified opportunities while consistently meeting or exceeding goals. Act as a subject-matter expert for expedited freight solutions, supporting team members in addressing customer needs and closing complex deals. Partner with solutions, operations, and implementation teams to ensure smooth transitions from sale to execution, delivering a seamless customer experience. Support the team in maintaining strong relationships with customers, identifying growth opportunities, and resolving challenges to enhance customer satisfaction. Establish and monitor sales metrics and KPIs, using data to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement. P&L Management, to include team expense management, forecasting, and forward looking budget process. Other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing, Transportation and Logistics, or equivalent 10 years of experience in the sales of transportation and distribution systems, and a general understanding of expedited freight, LTL, Truckload, rail, intermodal, highway operations, last mile, contract logistics and supply chain processes Experience in logistics sales and sales management, preferably sustaining and growing a portfolio of transportation products of at least $25 million per year Proven track record in selling expedited logistics solutions and understanding customer requirements in time-sensitive shipments Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate fellow team members and work in a collaborative fashion with the highest integrity Ability to always be a highly professional representative of the company, including protecting company confidentiality around current and future business strategies Expert-level analytical, organizational and communication skills Able to travel internationally, primarily in the within North/South AmericaSkills:
