Role Overview:
As a Software Engineering leader in Commercial Solutions at Mastercard, you will serve as the Engineering Leader for the business-critical, rapidly growing Data-as-a-Service program. You will manage teams that operate in modern full-stack development practices and tools to create world-class microservices and web applications. We’re building a global business-to-business (B2B) technology platform to help businesses of all sizes streamline how they manage payments when buying or selling products and services. Our Data-as-a-Service program seeks to drive additional value for our customers based on the wealth of information in their commercial data.

You will work in our Mastercard technology location in Pune, India, which provides a state-of-the-art environment for technology teams to thrive in our collaborative, Agile engineering culture. Your role will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of micro services architecture, resiliency patterns, knowledge of full stack applications, data architecture, big data technologies, and very strong team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building scalable platforms, managing large datasets, and driving data strategy in alignment with business goals.

The role will require you to:

•\tDevelop and implement the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data platform to support business objectives.
•\tLead and mentor a high-performing team of full stack engineers, application architects, data engineers, data architects, and data scientists.
•\tCollaborate with senior leadership to align data initiatives with overall company strategy.
•\tOversee the architecture, design, and development of scalable solutions.
•\tEnsure data integrity, security, scalability, efficiency and availability across the platform.
•\tDrive the adoption of best engineering and operational practices, including data warehousing, and data governance.
•\tStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
•\tEvaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
•\tFoster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
•\tOversee the day-to-day operations of the platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.
•\tDevelop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of data driven initiatives.
•\tWork closely with cross-functional teams, including product, analytics, and business units, to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
•\tCommunicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
•\tPromote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Required Experience:
•\tBachelor's degree
•\tYou have a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals
•\tYou have demonstrated strong customer focus
•\tYou have demonstrated excellent leadership and management capability for large engineering organization with globally distributed teams
•\tYou have experience building applications using Java, Python, Scala etc. and deploying/managing them in a cloud environment
•\tYou have experience using storage technologies such as PostgreSQL or Oracle and delivering solutions that leverage them at a massive scale
•\tYou have exposure to automated testing and releasing software in a continuous delivery model using Git
•\tYou have strong expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
•\tYou have proficiency in data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
•\tYou are passionate about the art of delivering the highest quality software to customers
•\tYou have familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies.
•\tYou enjoy working in an Agile team focused on continuous improvement and iterative deliveries
•\tYou have a strong desire to learn best practices and modern software architecture and collaborate within a team
•\tYou have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people

Nice To Have:
•\tExperience working within the payments, commercial card space or corporate banking space
