Act as the primary technology partner for the Vison Care LOB and deliver technology solutions to enable the business
Collaborate with the Vision Care executive leadership team to design and execute the Vision Care technical strategy aligned to their business needs, leveraging current architectural standards and emerging technology
Establish and communicate a clear vision, strategies and objectives to ensure that Vision Care GTS resources are aligned to support the Vison Care LOB, the Insurance pillar, VSP Vision and GTS’ vision, initiatives and business plans with a “business first” mindset
Select and implement technology solutions to streamline internal operations, optimize strategic benefits and improve the customer experience
Ensure the delivery of software solutions quickly and efficiently, leveraging agile methodologies, according business project prioritization to enable speed to market
Collaborate with technical staff across GTS to maintain agreed upon system availability standards for all critical systems of the Vision Care company and all other Lines of Business
Ensure critical systems for the Vision Care Company and those of any interfacing systems for other LOBs are adequately covered by a Disaster Recovery Plan
Protect VSP assets by following security standards and monitoring policies and industry best practice
Drive a continuous improvement culture and management practices across the division
Manage the attraction, retention and development of a high-performance workforce
Develop top leadership through selection, coaching and reinforcement with succession planning for top leadership positions in mind
Oversee the development of the department’s budget; monitor expenses to ensure department costs are within established levels; participate in similar functions, as appropriate, within the Division
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or business or related field or equivalent experience
Ten or more years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/ management roles, leading a motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals
Experience in information technology management with at least ten years high-level IT experience in several functional areas preferably in a corporate environment
Comprehensive conceptual knowledge of computer technology
Comprehensive knowledge of business systems and processes, especially industry “best practices”. Knowledge of VSP systems and process preferred
Strong, demonstrated skills in implementing technology to achieve business objectives
Proven track record of execution and driving successful outcomes
Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
